Helen Hedworth, BSc (Hons), MSc
Helen joined Aquatera in 2020, with over ten years’ combined experience in environmental consultancy, research and teaching. She has coordinated or supported environmental impact assessments (EIAs) in a variety of sectors, including energy, residential, rail and highways, and really enjoys working with teams of experts, and interacting with clients, contractors and legal advisors. Helen has a particular interest in renewable energies, having worked in the field in offshore wind, and on the EIA for the Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay project, for example. She is based in South Wales.
With a background in ecology and bioacoustics, Helen’s work has taken her to the Netherlands, Brazil, South Africa and Australia, and she is based in the UK. Helen has a good, general knowledge of marine and terrestrial ecology, and a special interest in how animals use sound signals to communicate and, in turn, the environmental effects of anthropogenic noise. She has experience with bat survey and acoustic analysis, passive acoustic monitoring of marine mammals, and noise measurements of pile driving and channel blasting.
