Work begins for the Lochmaddy Strategic Visioning Exercise
Aquatera Managing Director, Gavin Barr, headed West earlier this month to join our Associate Partner, Colin Ross's Workshop in North Uist, Outer Hebrides, to begin work on the Lochmaddy Strategic Visioning exercise.
The project aims to explore key drivers for future community and project development for Lochmaddy, and Aquatera is pleased to contribute to this project by supporting with public engagement and the community conversation process.
Gavin and Colin had a productive couple of days meeting members of the Lochmaddy community, and touring some key sites of interest for future development.
This included the Community Hall, a hub of social activity; the former School, which has recently been bought by the local Community Development Company and houses an excellent exhibition explaining North Uist's environmental and physical geography features; the Lochmaddy Marina; and the internationally acclaimed Taigh Chearsabhagh Arts Centre - which has aspirations for expansion through the Islands Deal.
The Lochmaddy Vision project will run until March 2024, with Aquatera leading further community engagement and communication events during January and February.
