Global Growth for Aquatera

October 4th 2014

Established in 2000 by Managing Director Gareth Davies, Stromness based Aquatera is an environmental consultancy which operates in local, UK and overseas markets, providing a wide range of services to both the renewable energy and oil and gas industries.

For Aquatera, a growing emphasis of the business involves exporting its expertise overseas. The company is currently operating in countries as far afield as Chile, Japan, France, the USA, Canada and Kazakhstan to name a few.

As such, Aquatera has gone on to receive international acclaim and recognition as 4 times Energy North Awards (best exporter) winner. Managing Director, Gareth Davies, was also acknowledged by his peers when he picked up the Ambassador’s Award back in 2011 given his personal and professional commitment to the industry.

Each year Aquatera’s international portfolio expands and includes regions such as Japan, France, the USA, Canada and Kazakhstan. “We are now completing more work around the globe than in our own country. Chile is the furthest advanced market for us and our staff there are delivering on projects which are supporting the country to realise its potential in marine renewable energy.” says Gareth Davies (MD).

In order to deliver across the globe, Aquatera has a targeted approach to recruitment. It employs the brightest and best in their respective fields and boasts a multi-lingual international workforce. In recent years it has seen Spanish, French, Russian and Japanese staff boosting the excellent team in Stromness as well as Chilean and Kazakhs based in their country.
