We're Recruiting Experienced Environmental Consultants

July 8th 2020

37½ hours per week; salary based on experience; includes pension

Aquatera is expanding and we are looking for experienced, creative, visionary Environmental Consultants to join our unique team. Aquatera is not your average consultancy and working with us will not be your average job. We are a nimble, friendly, community-oriented company based in Orkney and we take on ambitious, pioneering, complex projects all over the world. Orkney is renowned as a global hub for innovation in renewable energy, hydrogen storage, low carbon planning, and marine services and operations. Aquatera was born out of this dynamic environment and has been working at its heart for the past 20 years, attracting a team of talented staff and associates from around the world.

Working with us could have you simultaneously involved in a tidal energy demonstration project located in the stunning seas visible from our office window; and working with clients from Singapore and Indonesia to Africa and South America on transitioning infrastructure to meet zero carbon targets. We are a skilled, hard-working, scientific team with the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the heart of our company. We view changing the world as serious business, and we build innovative teams, partnerships and networks to implement change.

We are looking for Environmental Consultants with at least 5 years’ experience in renewable energy and/or marine disciplines who can confidently manage a diverse workload that includes EIA, strategic planning and roadmapping, environmental surveys and monitoring, public and stakeholder communications, and strategic research management.

We develop enduring relationships with our clients — who range from community organisations and developers to global companies and governments — often supporting them over many years. So your ability to forge and maintain robust relationships that last through long, complex projects is as vital as your technical expertise.

Collaboration is key to how we operate. As well as taking a lead in environmental projects, our consultants take an active role in supporting all elements of the business and in the promotion and sales of the organisation. Our culture is supportive, hard-grafting and creative. We get involved in lots of community initiatives, practicing locally what we work to do globally. We value commitment to the team and the communities in which we live and work.

If our culture, our mission and work inspire you and you feel you have the experience we need then do get in touch. We are based in Stromness, Orkney but remote working may be considered for outstanding candidates.

Please apply by sending your CV and a comprehensive supporting statement outlining how your skills, knowledge and experience best fit with Aquatera to:
