Japan
Since the Japanese earthquake and Tsunami in 2011, there has been significant interest in renewable energy sources in Japan.
Although nuclear power is a key energy provider in the country: wind, solar, wave and tidal devices are rapidly advancing, with developments and testing underway to create the world’s largest offshore wind farm, located 9 miles off Fukishima.
Aquatera has an active tidal test site in Nagasaki Prefecture, an interest in wave and offshore wind test areas, as well as developing educational links in Kamaishi City. Other business opportunities are currently being explored with renewable companies based in Tokyo.
