Kirkwall

A glossy A2 poster featuring a high-resolution satellite image taken on the cloudless Saturday of 22nd July 2006. The resolution allows individual dwellings to be seen, as well as other landscape features, such as field boundaries, roads, ports, harbours and inland bodies of water. Aquatera commissioned the satellite photography to be undertaken by SPOT Image, a supplier of geographic information derived from satellite imagery, based in Toulouse, France. The images were captured at a resolution of 2.5 metres, or, to put it another way, each pixel represents 2.5 square metres.
