European Marine Energy Centre
Aquatera was actively involved with establishing the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Orkney, and carried out environmental scoping work required for the permitting of the facility’s tide and wave energy test sites. The company was also instrumental in developing guidelines for the device-specific environmental impact assessment process that must be conducted prior to a developer deploying a device at one of EMEC’s tidal or wave test site berths.
